The origin of the tree is from Riyadh but it is widely planted in the Holy Land of Medina. The color is brownish brown and the tip is creamy white. A little of the base of Sugai’e is half cooked while the rest is soft and 40% moist. It has a taste like Sukari dates, but it is not too sweet. You can imagine it like eating a caramel that has buttery taste and quite crunchy on the base. Sugai’e is rarely sold in Malaysia but we are assured that you would want more after your first bite of Sugai’e.
